In January 2015, NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital entered a new chapter in its 126-year history by partnering with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems, and became affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Regional Hospital Network.  New York-Presbyterian is based in New York City and, in collaboration with two renowned medical schools, Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, is consistently recognized as a leader in medical education, ground-breaking research and innovative, patient-centered clinical care.  Each year, nearly 29,000 New York Presbyterian medical and health care professionals deliver exceptional care to more than two million patients.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital is the first hospital in the region to have earned the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence and the only hospital in the region to earn it twice, in 2010 and 2013. It is going for a third award in early 2016.  The Joint Commission also recognized the hospital twice in recent years as a “Top Performer on Key Quality Measures,” and key patient and employee satisfaction metrics led to six awards to date from Press Ganey, including the “Guardian of Excellence Award” and the “Success Story Award.”

From its Cortlandt Manor campus, NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital offers the convenience of a community hospital with access to leading-edge medicine and world renowned physicians.  The128-bed facility is a fully accredited, non-profit hospital serving patients and their families with quality health care through a growing team of more than 350 physicians and 1,300 employees.  An expansion in 2010 added 133,000 square feet of space to the hospital, including a four-story patient tower with all private rooms, and also doubled the size of the No-Wait Emergency Department, which sees some 40,000 patients a year.  Upcoming projects will result in a completely new and modern Maternity Center and additional Emergency Room space, enhancements and renovations.

The Cortlandt Manor hospital campus includes the following:

  1. The Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center
The center offers all cancer-related services in one location, including radiation, infusion and support services. Its physicians provide treatment based on nationally recognized guidelines developed by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network; and its active participation in professional organizations assures that patients benefit from the latest breakthroughs in diagnosis, treatment, testing and survivorship. A complete and comprehensive range of cancers are treated at the center, including the lung, breast, prostate, colorectal, stomach, blood and most common cancers. Nurse Navigators offer support and help plan treatment. For more information, call 914-293-8400.
  2. The Ashikari Breast Center
Along with the physicians in the New York Group for Plastic Surgery, The Ashikari Breast Center is one of the pioneers in breast reconstruction, most notably a nipple-sparing procedure that allows the removal of cancerous or potentially cancerous breast tissue, minimizing the trauma of a mastectomy. The Ashikari team of surgical oncologists uses the latest and most effective techniques to eradicate cancer and was among the first to use Intra-operative radiation therapy during surgery, which reduces the number of traditional radiation treatments. They fully support and treat the patient as a whole person.  In January 2015, the Ashikari Breast Center at NYP/HVH received a three-year, full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. For more information, call 914-737-9000.
  3. New York Bariatric Group
The New York Bariatric Group has among its staff some of
the country’s leading bariatric surgeons, and it offers the latest in minimally invasive weight loss surgery. The New York Bariatric Group provides surgical options such as laparoscopic banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass.  All these procedures are being performed at NYP/HVH in its Surgery Center. For more information, call 914-513-3677.
  4. The Institute for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine
The wound center provides a comprehensive program run by a team of professionals including physicians and vascular surgeons, as well as certified wound care nurses and technicians, all of whom specialize in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. The team employs a multi-disciplinary approach to fit each patient’s needs and the Institute offers three oversized, private hyperbaric chambers where patients can relax, listen to music or watch a movie. NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital is the only facility in the region to have earned Accreditation with Distinction from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the leading authority in the nation on hyperbaric medicine. For more information, call 914-734-3030.
  5. The Maternity Center
The Maternity Center offers mothers top-quality, personalized care for each birth experience.  Expert medical staff, the Hospital’s Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and neonatologists are on hand for the safety and security of mother and baby. The Hospital offers deliveries by obstetricians and midwives, and welcomes doulas, a non-medical person who serves as a birth companion and post-birth supporter. Labor and Delivery Suites offer rooms that pair the comforts of home with state-of-the-art equipment, including a whirlpool tub in each birthing room to help speed up delivery and ease pain. NYP/Hudson Valley is claimed to be the only hospital in the region to be certified "Baby Friendly" by Baby Friendly USA and the World Health Organization in recognition of superior care and the hospital’s commitment to making sure that mothers who choose to breastfeed have the best chance at success. A program facilitated by The Maternity Center’s Lactation Consultant provides ongoing education and support.  For more information about breast-feeding education and/or to schedule a tour of the Maternity Center, call 914-734-3257.
  6. The Centers for Rehabilitation
