We know our nonprofits are always busy fulfilling the needs of their missions. Being a member of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce provides great opportunites to gain exposure for your organization, but are you taking full advantage of your membership and effectively spreading the word about your nonprofit? Here are our recommendations to best enhance your experience…

#1 Attending Events - Networking

The number one way to enhance your Chamber experience is to be seen and heard. When you attend a Chamber networking event, you will be meeting people who are actively involved, not only in the Chamber, but in our communities. These are people who exemplify the mission of our chamber, in influence, economic development and enhancement of the quality of life in the areas we serve.

They will also be meeting you! The more you are seen, known and heard, the more they will think of your organization. They will remember who you represent, and it is sure to nurture connections for future involvement, advocacy, or financial support. You could also find a new board member!

Networking

These networking events are opportunities to meet and engage with people who have the same values or complementary goals and develop new contacts who align with your organization’s mission and vision. These contacts within your local community have the potential to be long-term partners.

You can register for these events on the Chamber Website Events Calendar.

#2 Marketing & Advertising Opportunities

Are you taking advantage of your Chamber membership marketing and advertising opportunities? Do you know that we have:

  • Free promotion of your events and fundraisers in our weekly e-blast newsletters. Please send flyers to info@hvgatewaychamber.com a few weeks in advance to maximize exposure.
  • Follow us and we will follow you! On Facebook, LinkedIn & Instagram.
  • Distribution of your promotional materials in our Visitor Kiosk. Stop by the Chamber and drop them off! The Chamber is open Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 5pm, but the Visitor Kiosk is open 8am - 8pm every day.

#3 Join a committee

When you join a committee at the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, you increase the visibility of your organization and you make lasting connections with other committee members. You find people with similar goals and passions. By sharing your insight, creativity, and ideas, you will drive the objective of the committee forward and enhance not only the committee’s work, but also enhance the Chamber’s effectiveness. Click here for a list of all our committees. Join one today! Contact Executive Director Carole Voisey for more information. Email: Carole@hvgatewaychamber.com

There are other ways to enhance your Chamber experience, however if you start with these top 3 ways you will be off to a great start! Show up and be seen at our Networking events, follow us and we will follow you on social media, join a committee and increase your investment. Together we create a thriving space for all of our nonprofits to fulfill their missions.
