An egalitarian conservative synagogue in Peekskill, NY is seeking a qualified and experienced person for the part-time (24 hours per week) position of Synagogue Office Administrator.
The Office Administrator is one of the primary front-line contacts with both the synagogue members and the community at large. Key responsibilities include office management, financial/membership management and overseeing facilities management.
The right person will be enthusiastic, diplomatic, and professional with good people skills as well as able to maintain confidential information. The individual needs to be able to multi-task, wear many different hats and work independently. They need to have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks as well as having familiarity with Constant Contact, journal entry, Paychex, and desktop publishing. Ability to post to social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram, etc. is a plus.
Principal duties include, but are not limited to, managing day-to-day operations of the synagogue, event logistics, answering phones and preparing payroll, receiving payments from congregants, and entering them to accounts, administrative assistance for holiday and life-cycle events, managing the master calendar and supporting the Rabbi and President of the Congregation in meeting the community’s needs.
