John Lodge of The Moody Blues-The 10,000 Light Years Tour
John Lodge is bass guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the iconic rock band, The Moody Blues, and author of Moody Blues hits such as “Ride My Seesaw,” “I’m Just a Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” and “Isn’t Life Strange?” Lodge, a Birmingham, England native, has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling in excess of 70 million albums, and he was voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet.” He’s also been the recipient of many awards, including ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers) and the Ivor Novello Award. Lodge reunited with an old bandmate, Ray Thomas, and was invited to join Mike Pinder and Graeme Edge as bass guitarist/vocalist for The Moody Blues in 1966 and released their first album “Days of Future Passed,” which was met with critical acclaim. Lodge has also released a series of critically acclaimed solo albums such as his second solo album “10,000 Light Years Ago,” which features Moody Blues bandmates Thomas and Pinder on the song “Simply Magic.” 2017 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Moody Blues album “Days of Future Passed” and to celebrate, John and the Moody Blues embarked on a very special tour that included a complete performance of this iconic and groundbreaking album.
