Aspiring to build a musical career for yourself? Interested in knowing more about the music industry? NYSM is here for you! New York School of Music not only provides its students with private lessons in their musical discipline, it also believes in equipping students with the real life tools needed to be successful in the field. That is the mission that makes NYSM unique, and their first lecture; “Being in a Band” is the perfect place to start! Gary Schuster has designed a series of talks to cover the basics of the music industry, from copyrights and publishing, to management and beyond. The first event of the series, “Being in a Band” will cover bands as business partnerships, investment, profits, management, ownership of property, the band name, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to pursue a career in music, or for professional musicians to expand their knowledge and get questions answered by an expert! “Being in a Band” will be held on Saturday April 13th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the upstairs performance space, “The Den” at New York School of Music, 42B Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Admission fee of $10 can be paid ahead of time by calling 845-778-7594. Advanced registration is highly recommended!
