Live Jazz with Ted Daniel and the IBMC
Trumpeter Ted Daniel and the International Brass and Membrane Corps will perform music from the historic ?King Oliver? Gennett recordings of 1923, recently recorded with their own modern interpretation. The CD will be available at this performance. The IBMC includes: Newman Taylor Baker (drums) ? who has toured internationally with artists such as Billy Harper, Joe Henderson, Billy Bang, Henry Threadgill, Reggie Workman, and Henry Grimes, among others. Newman is also known for his group ?Singing Drums.? Rory Stuart (guitar) ? who has played and/or recorded with Charles Rouse, Charles Earland, Joe Locke, Larry Coryell, Wallace Roney, Cassandra Wilson and many others. Rory has also released CDs entitled ?Night Work? and ?Hurricane?. Jose Davila (tuba) ? Hails from Puerto Rico, and has toured with Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Henry Threadgill, Ray Charles and the Lincoln Center Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.
