Cool Jazz with Jeanne Ricks & Jenjii
Born in Chicago, Jeanne Ricks began playing guitar at the age of eight; attended Berklee College of Music; and has subsequently written a considerable repertoire of songs, including the title song on the George Benson CD 'Love Remembers' (WEA), a featured song on Robert Irving CD Midnight Dream (Verve/Forecast) entitled "Let's not Wait!" with guest vocalist Phil Perry; two songs for Tony Ransom (Ransom) "Take it To Heart" and "Turn to Me" on Expansion Records and three songs: "Thorny Rose," "Always," and "Stronger Than Pride" on Anita Pointer's forthcoming solo release (label TBA). Jeanne has also penned several songs with famed dance DJ and re-mixer Satoshi Tomiie. Jeanne is also heard on Steve Coleman's groundbreaking release The Sonic Language of Myth (RCA/Victor), where she sings background vocals. Most recently her services as a Guitarist have been retained by Al B Sure. Along with her band "Jenjii" Jeanne can be heard playing in clubs and venues around Manhattan.
